We live in an information society that continuously produces and interprets data. This book investigates the infrastructures that sustain this condition, tracing their historical and cultural roots. It moves from the technological foundations of datafication to the structures shaping contemporary society, viewed through the critical perspectives of thinkers such as Luciano Floridi and Zygmunt Bauman.
The second part examines how traces of “data” appear in today’s language:
an ever-expanding network of words derived from the same root.
Each of these terms is interpreted in a visual form, created through creative coding or other digital tools. Every entry is catalogued with space for readers to add their own reflections, transforming the book into an open and participatory dictionary.

Overall, the project combines research and philosophical reflection with space for visual experimentation. It invites readers to stay critical, to explore creatively, and to reconsider their position within a data-driven society.
