Slides are nostalgic objects that make images feel physical and tangible. Finding one in an old house or at a flea market can feel like discovering something hidden. Unlike the fleeting images we see on screens today, slides turn photographs into physical objects, giving the image a different presence.

This project uses that familiarity to create a sense of deception. Instead of real slides, the exhibition presents objects designed to look like them. Inside, they contain AI-generated images created with OpenAI’s DALL·E. The images are designed to look photographic and authentic, while small details reveal their artificial nature when examined closely.

The project explores how our relationship with images is changing and how easily images can shape or distort our perception of reality. At a time when we are surrounded by an unprecedented amount of visual content, the distinction between what is real and what is fabricated is becoming increasingly difficult
to recognise.
